Cancun, here I come!
UPDATE: Happy Birthday, JJ!!!! =)
=====
Haha, not exactly... In any case, I'm just unbelievably thankful that the break's here.. I can finally sleep! It's just been such a rough past few weeks, with little to no sleep... I literally lived off caffeine to keep me going.
Hmm... seems like every week is like that for me, eh? =P Today seemed especially bad... I felt really faint and weak, and it took a bit of effort to get my body to respond, lol. Since I had to take an exam, nothing I could do except eat lots of chocolate and other candies (on top of coffee) for short-term energy. Aww, poor me, eh? ;P
I also noticed that I've already regained my caffeine addiction... when I try going without it, I get massive headaches and fatigue. =( Ahh well, I have a week to recover and go cold-turkey!
Here's links to all the pics the GB's Kev Lowe took from Sectionals: (a LOT of them... thanks Kev! =))

I added a temporary hack to my comments section: you now have to read the randomly generated number and enter it into a box in order to post comments. I apologize for the inconvenience (not like many of you post comments anyway ;))... it's just a way to stop the flood of spam comments I've been getting while I look into more elegant solutions.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz....

APO 4 Life!
To all of you in APO: I love and hate you!!! =P
I love you all because you still make this old man feel welcome and continue supporting me... and for that, I truly feel blessed and happy! I promise to make more of an effort to visit all of you, and do at least 1 service project with your chapter!
As for hating you all... hehe, well... I thought I finally was ready to move on and close another chapter of APO in my life... but after Sectionals this past Saturday, because of YOU ALL, I guess you're stuck having me around for another year! Arghh! ;P
Especially with me graduating soon *fingers crossed* hopefully that'll give me more time...=)
I wish I had pictures, but I refuse to buy a new camera unless it's my dream dSLR! In the meantime, just gotta wait for Gamma Beta's Kev Lowe to post up his awesome pics! =)
Thanks OZ for hosting sectionals... and to all the chapters for participating and putting together some really talented roll calls! Man, I swear it's less roll call, and more talent/dance show now... complete with some 5-10 min routines full of different steps and dances! It's all good... I enjoyed every minute of it!
Oh hey Ernie... too bad you weren't there to watch Iota Phi's roll call... I think it'd bring a happy tear to your eye! They were stepping with the best of them! Hehe... as one brother put it:
"Wow, when did Iota Phi become a state school?!" Hahahaha....
=====
Nothing like a warm, sunny to put me in a good mood! I can almost feel summer around the corner; yay! =) Geeze... I shudder to think of how much more unproductive/slacking I'll be! Ahh well, whatever... off to the beach to people watch enjoy the sun!
Hey... gotta enjoy this student life as best I can, while I can, right? ;)

You hear the damndest things...
... in the CS labs!
Overheard from 2 students working on their project:
"If this works, I will f*ck the living sh*t out of you!"
...
"Ohmigod, it worked! I could suck you off for days!!!"
Anyway... back to work. I don't even remember the last time I went to sleep... been literally living off Red Bull! If anyone wants to visit and entertain me in the grad CS lab, come by! =D
=====
So, last night (well.. this morning, I suppose) the power goes off in the Science building (which was kinda freaky) forcing me to go home to continue working... and tonight, I head over to the library's 24hr study room... only to have the building shut down at 10pm because of some emergency!
I swear, this has to be some sign... not to study!!! ;p

Academy of Friends
I volunteered tonight at the Academy of Friends gala -- my what, 6th? 7th? year in a row participating at this event? Even though I'm really screwed with school now (it's near official), it totally was worth coming out tonight! I had a great time: got to help out a worthy cause, reunited with familiar faces, and met a lot of new ones -- both APhiO members and not!
HI to all of you that I met tonight, and don't worry, I'll keep my promise of visiting your chapter! =D
This year marked a possible transition... from serving as a volunteer at AoF to perhaps a staff position. We'll see. =)
I always get such a positive vibe -- from volunteers and guests alike -- at Academy of Friends... seems like everyone's having a great time and just radiating energy and enthusiasm! And I totally fed off that... I was at my "meet-and-greet"/customer service best, constantly smiling, chatting... I was on my A game, and I knew it.
And people responded to that in kind. ;P
=====
*sigh* Meeting all these new friendly faces tonight -- and having real conversations with some of them! (mutter mutter... stupid UCSF party...) was exactly what the doctor ordered to cure some minor blues.
At the same time, it now makes it harder to leave APO (not saying I was planning to)... grr. =)
Tonight was the happiest I've felt in a while... not worrying about school or finding a job, but just completely living in the present and enjoying myself. I'm sure I'll miss school once I rejoin the work force, but as of right now, I'm unbelievably bitter about not having my nights and weekends free to do as I please. Like hanging out and socializing with my friends, old and new! Like volunteering and giving back to the community. Like taking lots of pictures! =)
